Fun In the Sun

The recent school holiday, we took off to Kuantan and stayed at the Swiss Garden with a few friends & their kids. 9 adults & 9 kids taking 4 rooms made quite a good company where we had lots of sunshine & laughter. well, 3 days there were definitely not enough for the kids as I could still recall their wailing & crying when were asked to leave the pool as we were nearing checking out time.... Anyway, another holiday is coming soon, hopefully we'll be blessed with another fun vacation!

Mom's Birthday

Mom's 63rd Bday was celebrated with a scrumptious seafood dinner. For the 1st time since the arrival of her 3 new grandchildren, we find ourselves havin to squeeze tightly into 1 big table. I guess we'll need 2 tables for her next year's do! Happy Bday Mom!

An Old Friend came Knocking

Haaalluww...!! a call came from a former colleague... dearly elaine, who is making an incredible effort to organize a gathering of some ex-sbb-chrd staff.

now, how long had it been? couldn't recall, so i retrieved an old album and flipped thru the fading photos. hah, that's a picture of elaine & myself in office.... goodness, it is dated in 1990. wah, a good 17 years ago....

then came 2 'kepoh-chi s' peering over my shoulder - 'ehhh, how come mommie dressed in suits? wah, mommie worked in office before meh??' hmmmm, looks like my retirement from the corporate world 5 years ago has completely erased the image of a 'working mom' off their minds.

a nite out meeting the old girls talking about the good old days and rekindling new bonds sound very tempting. but, it may be a bit of a challenge for an 'ah-Soh' who lives 40miles away with 2 young & very attached al-luis. so my dear ah-fun, do set a more realistic goal that suits my current ability. he..he.he ..whatever it is - if one is destined to meet, to meet we shall!

Compact baby powder

Here's an interesting compact powder that was recommended by a dear auntie maggie. it is actually baby powder (Pigeon brand) in a compact case. my girls love it, dab it on their face pretending that they are applying make-up. very convenient for travelling or to carry in your bag rather than bringing the loose baby powder. available from u-parkson at RM17.90.

Swimming Lesson

After series of beach holidays, we enrolled grace to swimming lessons at 1U. many were surprised and not aware that there's a pool in 1U (behind kenny roger's chicken) that caters for swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling lessons.

it is so impressive to see the kids there, so young but could swim so well, hmmm ...so envy.... coz i can't swim!

while grace is at the pool, mommie and daddy happily go window shopping around.. how convenient!!!!.

Baby Boom

In a recent gathering, i learned that two of my old friends are expecting again. fish, who is carrying her 3rd child and lb, who is finally pregnant with her 2nd child 10 years after having her elder one. courageous mothers!

sil is also pregnant, having married last dec - so kuku emily, welcome to motherhood! i do look forward to the arrival of this new family member. Joyce says is will be a boy, let see how accurate her sixth sense is.

It is also not till recently that i got to know the my neighbor's son who got married in a hurry two months' back is also a father-to-be soon. both he and his new wife are barely 22 years old. oh dear, best of luck to them.

i had already bid my good-bye to pregnancy after joyce's arrival. all i pray and hope for now would be a graceful and joyful motherhood.....

Dot-dot cum reading book

bought a this for joyce recently and she happens to enjoy it very much. join the dots as she counts the numbers, some pictures would require her to join the dots by following the alphabet order. she then colors the pictures and read along. hmmm......this should keep her busy for a while. he he he

From trash to treasure.

for ages, this snowflakes crystal ball ornament was tucked deep in grace's cupboard. nobody remembers how it got there nor appreciates its existence until one fine day - when we watched this korean drama series - 'my girl' - a very entertaining, hilarious yet romantic .... aiyah.... just say that it's a much watch.

a quick bits of unfold from the drama, " each time it snows, it would be JooYoo-rin's bday. Gongchan would then buy a snowflakes crystal ball as her bday gift. it then accumulates into a full showcase cabinet.. how romantica...

after lots of head-scratching, a total recall came that ours was a christmas gift from kuku evelyn . co-incidently, she's the one whom we borrowed the 'my girl' dvd from.

when the show ended, the whole family was bitten by the 'my girl' bug. our cystal ball is a treasure to us now - remembering how much fun and laughter the drama had gave us and that gifts do represent love and thoughtfullness from one to another.

darling cousin tricia

during the recent broadcasted tv series 'hanazakarino kimitachihe' on Ch18, this beloved niece of mine (as well as my ah lui, grace) has developed a huge crush on the actors who happened to be an all boys' taiwan singing group - the Fahrenheit.

i guess her craze is still at high peak when we were recently told that she will be committing herself to attend guitar lessons. all rise and clap to the ever-supporting parents!

so, keep plucking girl! (hopefully, mommie evelyn would not have to re-sell the guitar..... remember what happened to your piano, tris??)

here's dinky, tricia's new little brother.. actually it's my sil's hyper-active yorkshire terrier.

hopefully, we'll get one too for our family in the near future. we are looking forward to a pug. yes, the one that joyce named 'the angry dog' due to its cool & serious nature. hubby & i like it coz it's cute, adorable & most importantly, it has the least hair! we just can't stand those furs.
